Is your Vitamin C causing irritation?
It’s important to note that Vitamin C products can vary greatly in terms of formulation, concentration, and the type of Vitamin C used. Many Vitamin C products use Ascorbic Acid, the most common form of Vitamin C, known for its potency but potentially irritating, especially for sensitive skin. Ascorbic Acid is also highly unstable, prone to oxidation, and can lose effectiveness over time if not properly formulated or packaged.
If you’ve experienced irritation or sensitivity with Vitamin C in the past, it might be worth exploring a product with a different form, such as Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate. This version is much more stable and less likely to cause irritation. It’s oil-soluble, which allows it to penetrate the skin more effectively, reaching deeper layers where it can provide significant anti-ageing benefits. In fact, studies suggest that Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate can penetrate the skin up to three times better than Ascorbic Acid. That's why we use it in our Radiant C Serum.
